U5/6 |
soccer is a form of pre-soccer with the emphasis on fun. Sometimes called 'bumble bee ball' there's lots of running and jumping and kicking. It's a lot of fun to watch. |
|---|---|
U7/8
|
begins introducing basic ball mastery skills in the form of special practice games and activities. Simple, easy games develop simple, easy to learn skills. |
U9/10
|
builds on the basics with a slightly broader range of 'touch' skills. Teamwork begins to be a factor. Players begin to develop confidence in their abilities and try out their skills or a few new moves during games. |
U11/12 |
continues to expand on the 'good habits' learned in previous seasons. Learning to shoot, juggling techniques and moves is a big part of training. Teamwork is becoming more of a factor. |
U13/14 |
emphasizes teamwork along with a range of more advanced ball mastery skills. Players start to learn that the game is really played with their brains. This often comes as a big surprise to everyone! |
U15/16 |
concentrates on teamwork and fast attack small group tactics. Skills training continue in earnest as players begin to hone and take pride in their "personal moves". |
| U19 |
is all about teamwork, fast attack tactics and game strategy. Players at this age level are often 'hard-core' and have been playing 10-15 years. Most will be playing to stay in shape for their high school teams. Some will be on their way to college teams next season. |

Competitive - This program is based on tryouts and the selection process that focuses on players that show the potential to play at the highest level in soccer. Players are subjected to intense training by licensed coaches to ensure players receive the best possible techniques and tactics. The emphasis for the competition program is to develop the player to their fullest soccer potential and to encourage growth to possibly play in high school and college. The age groups within this program range from U9 to U18. Comp teams require try-outs for player selections. Participating in the tryout process does not guarantee that the player will be selected. Even those players that were on a competitive team last year must be re-evaluated before being selected. Competitive teams travel to play at other club's fields as well as home games on our fields. Competitive teams usually practice twice a week and use professional trainers. The competitive season runs for both the fall and spring season. After the regular season ends most teams will continue to practice and enter tournaments. Competitive teams are issued higher quality uniforms and equipment. Teams are assembled after try-outs in May/June. |

One of the most important aspects of any competitive program is not only the commitment of the player but also the parent. The coaches put in a tremendous amount of volunteer time and the expectation is that anyone selected will take this seriously, and to give it his/her best effort. We do request that you carefully consider the expectation of the competitive program before committing to join this program. It not only is a commitment throughout the regular season but also tournaments which require travel to other parts of Florida as well as sometimes out of state. Again, this is not only a time commitment for the parents it is also a monetary commitment tournament fees, travel costs to include hotels and meals are the responsibility of the parent. Teams usually look for sponsors and participate in fundraisers to help offset the expense. |
